NEW 2024 YEAR IN GEORGIA - Adjaria touring with New Year's Eve in Batumi

Flight from Poland to Georgia (by the cheapest connections, e.g. Warsaw->Kutaisi) is included in the day's itinerary. The flight is not part of the organization within this offer. Nonetheless, participants are supported in the organization of air tickets and flight, which they can take in the company of our pilot and trip leader.

At the airport in Kutaisi, the actual picking of participants takes place at the appointed time. Most often flights to Kutaisi take place in the late afternoon from Poland. So, upon arrival at the place before us is a late evening bus transfer to Batumi... We will pick you up from the airport, greet you with a glass of Georgian wine and treat you with Georgian bread and an assortment of fresh cheeses.

Everyone gets a good night's sleep, after breakfast we set off on a tour of the city, the plan includes: the Alphabet Tower, which has the shape of DNA, the famous Caucasian lovers Ali and Nino, the seaside boulevard and dancing fountains, the search for the golden fleece and Pirosmani paintings in the European Square, teleportation to Italy to immediately find ourselves in Turkey and visit Ortajame... What does it mean? You will see for yourself.

Today also evening free time, culinary freedom, freedom of choice - we do not organize for the evening feast, although we are happy to spend time with you.

A day off, a day of preparation for the all-night event. Everyone will be able to spend it at their own discretion and with their own plan. In the evening, we will all meet and head out for an all-night party in European style with Georgian accents. 

There's nothing better for a headache than... An excursion, a New Year's tour to Machakhela National Park with its unique biodiversity of Kolkhida forests... On the way we'll stop by the thatched roof of the locals - winemaker Ilya and his family, where we'll have a delicious dinner with Adjarian dishes and also taste wine, which he makes in the traditional way in a quevri - a clay vessel buried in the ground. A method known and used for 8,000 years! 

In the morning after breakfast, we set off for the Lesser Caucasus to see the beautiful waterfalls. Georgians themselves do not know exactly how many there are, every year they discover new ones. It is essential to dress in clothes comfortable for walking and equally comfortable shoes.

We can't be in Georgia and not visit a winery. The history of wine making here dates back 8,000 years! We will taste several types of wines with a local expert, learn how the Georgian method of production differs from the European one, and at the same time see up close the life of people in the Adjara countryside.

On the way back we will stop at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sarkisian, who has a small chinkali, dumpling and dumpling factory in her family home on the Choroch River. They will hold a workshop on making chinkali especially for us, and afterwards invite us to a sumptuous feast with delicious, homemade and, above all, Adjarian food, while the host teaches us how to make traditional toasts. The homey atmosphere, vegetables from the garden, our neighbor's homemade cheeses, a terrace surrounded by tangerine trees overlooking Batumi and chilled wine will make it uncommon!

If time and desire permit, we will expand the program a bit with an ascent to the Jwari viewpoint.

After breakfast, we take you to tea...to the Guria region - a place where the long-standing tradition of tea cultivation is still cherished.

We begin with a visit to the picturesque coastal village of Tikhisdziri, where the ruins of the Byzantine fortress of Petra, the construction of which was initiated by Emperor Justinian I the Great, are located.

Further on, we will stop in Ureki, which is famous for its unique, because of its graphite color, Magnetiti beach. Locals claim that this unique sand has healing properties and has a positive effect on circulation, arthritis and other human skeletal disorders. We can check if there is something of truth in this by burrowing into the sand up to our necks....

After a curative beach break, we will visit a tea plantation. The planters will introduce us to the history of the plantation, we will see how it is grown, harvested, dried and prepared for brewing. After visiting the plantation, we will visit the production hall, where, in addition to tea, they produce... NOTE - local fruit-based vodkas. The owner buys seasonal fruits from local orchards and brews a variety of liquors from them, including the famous Georgian chacha. We will be tasting!

After the tour, recharged with knowledge, we will take advantage of an invitation to a Georgian feast overlooking Ozurgeti, a town that housed the Institute of Tea and Subtropical Cultures during Soviet times. While enjoying Georgian specialties tasting of local liquors continues.

Back to Batumi.

Mtirala National Park is an interesting attraction located about 30 km from Batumi.

Upon arrival, there is about a 5 km trek, a slightly more intense walk, or perhaps a rather undemanding hike. On the way there is a rope park, a waterfall and a picturesque lake.

After a walk in Mtirala fish bazaar, there everyone chooses a fresh fish (and pays for the carcass), which they prepare for us and serve on a table with salads and local wine.

We leave Batumi and head for the airport, but before we get there... We'll visit one of the region's scenic gems - the Martvili Canyon (boat trips available at an additional cost), followed by the beautifully illuminated Prometheus Cave, which was meant to be a nuclear fallout shelter. Farewell dinner. Evening transfer to the airport.
