Introduction

An area of nearly 1,700 square kilometers, with more than 15% of its surface covered by water spaces, which constitute the richest network among all Polish regions, including more than 4,000 lakes with the country's largest - Śniardwy. A land of Gothic castles and churches, erected by the Teutonic Knights who once ruled these lands and settled by settlers from Mazovia, historically more Evangelical than Catholic, in modern times ineffectively Germanized. Masuria, as they are referred to, is a paradise for explorers and discoverers, sailors and canoeists, as well as lovers of silence and walks close to, or even in the heart of, wild nature.

Definitely an exclusive weekend for motorcycle owners, premium tourists and lovers of balanced luxury in one... 3 nights, 3 long evenings and 3 late mornings at the unique Hotel Zamek Ryn **** - a 14th century Teutonic fortress, meticulously restored and enriched with modern solutions with good spa facilities, located in the heart of Masuria, from where it is close to all, the biggest attractions of the region. In the program, in addition to a thorough understanding of the castle and its secrets - those of the past and modernity - group rides with a pilot, a tour of the greatest attractions of Masuria and evening travel lectures by the Special Guest....

Description

What does the open date of the event mean?

The actual date of the event will be determined within the given periods of organization and after the group of declared participants is completed in the indicated minimum number. In order to become a declared participant, you must agree to this open date formula by making a reservation (paying the reservation fee and signing the travel event contract). After the completion of the tour group for the open date of the event designated between May and September, when conditions for motorcycle touring are ideal, we set the exact date and details of the trip with the target group.

At what time will the group be completed and what if it is not completed?

The designated time to complete the departure group: From the date of publication of this offer until 9.09.2021. During this period, a tour group may be completed on a continuous basis with the indication of the last possible date of implementation in the calendar year 2021, i.e. in September. If the group is not completed by 9.09.2020, the declared participants are notified of this fact, contracts may be terminated (with the effect of immediate return of payments made without deductions), or annexed with the consent of the declared participant to another tourist event on offer.

If the group is completed, the declared participants are informed along with the possible date (or dates) of implementation. The appointment is made 4 weeks in advance.

Who is the trip for?

Everyone should try a bit of madness at least once a year, and if only for as short a time as the May weekend.

What does this madness consist of?

We will spend 3 nights (probably 3 long evenings and 3 mornings) in an amazing place - historic and at the same time exclusive, in the heart of Masuria - Ryn Castle Hotel ****. The Ryn Castle Hotel is a four-star property that is housed in a 14th-century Teutonic castle in Ryn, located between Lakes Olow and Ryn. There's a free swimming pool in the castle's Gothic basement, a free spa with saunas and a fitness center, and guests reside in stylish rooms with free WiFi. The interior design reflects the original architecture of the castle. Hotel guests can take advantage of the on-site massage room, bowling alley, golf simulator, and spend time in the covered courtyard. The standard daily breakfast buffet, served in the hotel's Refectory restaurant, which also offers traditional Polish cuisine specialties. For long evenings - glasses of wine in the wine bar and nightclub Winiarnia.

This short weekend recreational trip combined with sightseeing is dedicated - due to its formula - to all owners of motorized unicycles (as well as "non-owners", but definite renters taking advantage of rental offers), looking for proposals for short, dynamic, efficiently organized social trips with a clear tinge of tourism. The destination (Masuria) and the program of less than three days of sightseeing tours. The program of the recreational, relaxation and even entertainment part does not exist and is limited only by the imagination of the participants. The proposal is perfect for both beginners and advanced, traveling alone and with a passenger. Families and groups of friends are welcome, for whom a well-organized and guided "outing" will allow for truly deep relaxation, and in the company of loved ones will certainly intensify the positive experience. This is definitely not a budget trip, not for those who only want to ride a motorcycle - we reside in a hotel **** and do not avoid tips, we go not to just ride, but to get there and get to know the place up close... We also go to loosen up, without a glass ceiling, though with reason and full culture.

Special Guest

A sort of highlight of our exclusive trip will be a Special Guest, whom we will invite to participate in our weekend and grace evenings with wine and fireplace storytelling. This will be a person chosen from among the celebrities associated with motorcycling, or a person from among the group of travelers with impressive achievements, whose presence will certainly leave everyone with unforgettable impressions, not counting the obligatory and joint photo session. There will certainly be something to remember.

Where do we start when completing a group?

We meet on a Thursday evening in the late afternoon and even in the evening at the starting point - Ryn Castle Hotel ****.

Many of us will be traveling from remote regions of the country, so we are taking a considerable time slot for accommodations. We will begin with a joint familiarization and integration dinner at the castle restaurant. On the following day, in the morning, after breakfast, we set off with a completed group towards the first point of the tourist program, and there will be several of them.

What does the plan look like in a nutshell?

Touring rides in Masuria are planned for a 3-day stay (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) and flexibly adjusted to the time possibilities and weather conditions. We start on Friday morning, moving from point to point in the program. The tour program includes the places suggested in the list of Main Points of the Program (read below). Participants travel in a group led by a tour leader (TL), the group stops at the tourist attractions included in the itinerary, and participants decide for themselves the extent of the tour within the allotted time frame. Overnight stays are organized in one place (Ryn Castle), which has a wide range of relaxation facilities and a spa area, to this place we return each day in the afternoon. We end on Sunday with a joint lunch on the return trip and near the last point of tourist attraction of Masuria - the Grunwald Museum

RYN -> ST. LINDEN -> RESZEL -> ŻYWKOWO -> GIERŁOŻ -> RYN

We take off right after breakfast, no earlier than 8:30 .

The day's suggestion is a drive starting in Swieta Lipka - a town located on the border of Warmia and Mazury , called the "Czestochowa of the North", to which thousands of pilgrims and tourists come year after year, mainly because of the region's most beautiful Baroque building and place of worship. The biggest attraction of Swieta Lipka is the interior of the church, including the beautiful Baroque organ, which was made in 1721 in Königsberg by J. J. Mosengel.

Further on, located a few kilometers northwest of Swieta Lipka, is the 14th-century bishop's castle in Reszel. It was here that the mythical last pyre in Europe was located, on which the last witch, Barbara Zdunk, was also burned. But whether the last pyre and whether the last witch - we will find out on the spot.

Optionally (time permitting) we will visit Zywkowo, called the Stork Capital. About 100 storks arrive and twice as many depart every year to this small village - consisting of nine farms and inhabited by 25 people. During the season, the whinny of the storks mixes with the flutter of the birds' rising and landing wings, making the place extremely charming and atmospheric.

An obligatory highlight of the day is the Wolf's Lair in Gierłoż. The place was strategically chosen as the main command and implementation site of the Barbarossa Plan - the invasion of the East. It was here that the famous complex was built, On an area of 250 hectares about 200 structures were built: anti-aircraft shelters, buildings of lighter concrete and brick construction, wooden barracks, two airstrips and a railroad station. Modern technical facilities, water supply system, sewerage system, sewage treatment plant, excellent communications for the time, asphalt and concrete roads, lit by lanterns, hairdresser, sauna, cinema, tea rooms, all this made "Wolf's Lair" a self-sufficient forest town. It was also here that the failed attempt on Adolf Hitler's life by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg took place on July 20, 1944.

If time permits we will visit the nearby Mazuroland (www.mazurolandia.pl)

RYN -> GIŻYCKO -> SZTYNORT -> MAMERKI -> WĘGORZEWO -> RAPA -> WOLISKO -> RYN

We will start our morning tour of Masuria in Gizycko and the region's largest monument - the 19th-century Boyen Fortress, built as a structure to block the strategic isthmus between the lakes Niegocin and Kisajno.

From there we will travel to Sztynort, where we will see the 17th-century palace of the Lehndorff family. It was built in what was once a complete wilderness. The palace is located on a hill above Lake Sztynort. A wall was erected on the side of the lake, and a passage existed on the side of the village. A park with oak avenues was established near the palace, and several dozen over 300-year-old oak trees have survived to this day, the oldest being (apparently) about 1,000 years old. The avenue from Sztynort to Sztynort Mały is the oldest surviving oak avenue dating back to the 17th-18th centuries with a length of 850 meters in Eastern Masuria.

Touring Mamry Lake from the west, it is impossible to miss Mamerki - one of the best preserved in Poland, a complex of undestroyed German bunkers from World War II. Between 1940 and 1944, about 250 structures were built for the needs of 40 top generals and field marshals, 1,500 officers and soldiers of the Wehrmacht, including 30 reinforced concrete bunkers, which, undestroyed, have survived to this day. The Germans did not manage to blow up the shelters, and they were abandoned without a fight by Wehrmacht troops in January 1945. In 2016-2017, the Amber Chamber was searched for in Mamerki, and reports of the search were broadcast by Polish and world media. Since May 2018, a replica of the Amber Chamber room - a 60-square-meter exhibition - has been open to the public at Mamerki.

Further north, towards Rapa and the tomb of the Farenheid family from the 18th century. There are many stories, legends and even a curse associated with the pyramid at Rapa. The place is undoubtedly on the must see list.

Returning in the direction of Gizycko we can drive through Borecka Forest, and in it stop for a moment at the bison enclosure, located near a deep glacial pond with the same name as the village of Wolisko. Borecka Forest is home to about 80 bison, and some are associated with the center in Wolisko.

RYN -> POPIELNO -> GRUNWALD -> return home

Sunday, the last day of getting to know the Masuria region. We are not in a hurry. We will make the most of our time at Ryn Castle. We will have breakfast by 10:00 a.m. We will leave the rooms at 11:00 a.m. and enjoy a guided tour of the Castle before leaving.

Bidding farewell to this charming place, still in a group, we will move on to Popielno. The Popielno Research Station is a unit belonging since January 1, 2016 to the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn. Activities carried out at the Research Station are aimed at preserving biodiversity, through breeding animals of conservation breeds (Polish ponies, Polish Red and Lowland Black and White cattle), as well as education and promoting an active lifestyle.

Here we will see Polish ponies up close, which are the only native, original breed of horse directly descended from wild tarpans, which until the end of the 18th century, and in some areas even until the beginning of the 19th century, could be found in the area of former Poland, Lithuania and Prussia.

Popielno is home to the Station's natural history museum - a historic granary dating back to the 18th century houses material presenting the Station's achievements and current work.

From there it was on to our final Mazurian exploration site - the Museum of the Battle of Grunwald in Stebark.
