Introduction

Namibia impresses with its contrasts and raw natural beauty. Here the desert meets the ocean, and the landscapes seem to be plucked from another planet. The Spitzkoppe granite massif, also known as the "Matterhorn of Africa" somewhere in the middle of the Namib desert, attracts climbers and photographers from all over the world with its natural beauty and Bushmen paintings adorning the rocks.

To the west, the mysterious Skeleton Coast, famous for its steely shipwrecks and boundless beaches shrouded in mist. And almost next door, the Messum Crater - an ancient vestige of the volcanic past, perfect for exploration and admiring the unique flora. And then there's Damaraland - a region stretching from the Skeleton Coast to the Central Plateau, known for its unique landscapes, wildlife and the culture of the Damara and Himba tribes, with Mount Brandberg - Namibia's highest peak, hiding an ancient history written in paintings.

Each day in this fascinating country brings new discoveries, combining the wildness of nature with its unique tranquility. Embark on a motorcycle journey with us, discover the magic of Namibia - in the heart of the African wilderness! A 9-day tourist-adventure expedition to Namibia, including a 7-day tour on ROYAL ENFIELD motorcycles accompanied by a 4×4 off-road vehicle through roads and wilderness, traces of ancient and modern culture of the Black Continent, in a limited group of participants, under the care of experienced pilots and PREMIUM service at an affordable price.

Czas approx. 4 hrs (+ stops)
Trasa approx. 280 km
Windhoek Spitzkoppe

We set off from Windhoek to Spitzkoppe, but first transfer participants to our Royal Enfield Center for motorcycle pick-up.

After a brief briefing, we set off, heading toward the coast on a fairly good paved road.
Shortly after leaving the horns of the capital city, completely wild, open spaces, characteristic of Namibia's landscapes, will appear to our eyes. During the drive, advancing deep into the Namib Desert - the oldest in the world - the landscape will gradually change to more and more rocky and desert-like.

The unique and distinctive rock formations of Spitzkoppe catch the eye from afar. The spectacular scenic and uninhabited area was part of the set of the MadMax movie "On the Road of Wrath," filmed just in Namibia in 2015. In the early afternoon we will arrive at our accommodation to still rest and have time to prepare for an amazing spectacle - sunset. Yes, yes - in this part of the world and in this setting, the sunset will be a spectacle. The plan is to have dinner and spend the night under the canvas tents at the camp Spitzkoppe Tented Camp.

PLAN OF THE DAY:

  • early breakfast
  • transfer of the group to the Royal Enfield Center to pick up the motorcycles
  • technical briefing
  • Departure on the road around 9:00 a.m. - direction Namib Desert
  • Drive on asphalt roads (about 250km) and gravel roads (about 30km)

DAY 3
Czas approx. 3 hrs (+ stops)
Trasa approx. 150 km
Spitzkoppe Skeleton Coast

After a hearty Namibian breakfast surrounded by breathtaking views of Namibia, we set off for a short walk around the Spitzkoppe rock formations. It's not possible by motorcycle, unfortunately, and to be there and not see it up close would be a sin of omission.

After a short and not at all tiring trek, we saddle up our indestructible Royal Enfields and continue our journey, straight to the "Skeleton Coast". The entire ride on a gravel road. The scenery will once again become desolate and stunning in its beauty at the same time, especially right near the coast. We will stop on the way to stretch our legs, have a coffee and eat something light. We will arrive in Swakopmund, the capital of the Skeleton Coast, in the early afternoon and lodge for the night in this unique town. We will drive through the city, admiring its equally unique architecture.

Swakopmund is famous for its colonial architecture and unique climate. It is a popular tourist destination offering activities such as water sports, tours of the Namib Desert and opportunities to experience the local culture. Founded in the 19th century by Germans, the town has retained many historic buildings, giving it a European feel. Swakopmund is also an ideal base for exploring the surrounding natural wonders, such as Walvis Bay and the Sossusvlei sand dunes.

In the evening we will walk to a delicious dinner at Tug Restaurant, located right on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Another magical evening in Namibia... Overnight stay at the very comfortable Indongo Guest House in Swakopmund.

PLAN OF THE DAY:

  • breakfast
  • A short trek around the Spitzkoppe rock formations
  • Departure on the road at about 11:00 am - direction Skeleton Coast and Swakopmund
  • Ride on gravel roads (about 150km)
  • Catering: B/L/D

DAY 4
Czas approx. 3 hrs (+ stops)
Trasa approx. 100 km
Swakopmund Walvis Bay

Today we discover the natural beauty of the landscape, the pulse of Namibia's life on the coast and edge of the world's oldest desert.

After breakfast served at the hotel, we will spend some time on site - a short walk and tour of Swakopmund. In the middle of the day we'll head south on motorcycles to Namibia's main port city of Walvis Bay. Walvis Bay is a city on the Bay of Whales and is the country's main seaport. The city is known for its fishing industry, guano processing and wildlife viewing opportunities, including sea lions and seabirds. Walvis Bay is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts such as kite surfing, largely due to the flat waters of the lagoon. The city is also an important logistics hub with a developed port and industrial infrastructure

On the way to Walvis Bay the Namib dunes, we will probably stop at one of them for a walk (or maybe a motorcycle rally on the dune for the advanced). In Walvis Bay itself, we'll have today's lunch on its waterfront.

We won't miss the sea salt farm, where we'll learn how efficient the production is and whether it goes full steam year-round. We'll call at the Walvis Bay peninsula, and from there we'll unhurriedly return to Swakopmund, along a coastal road bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the dunes of the Namib Desert on the other.

Dinner today at the iconic Western Saloon in Swakopmund - an atmospheric bar/pizzeria that is a unique combination of Western style and local flair. The bar specializes in pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, on thin and crispy dough with really hearty toppings. The restaurant is famous for its atmosphere, friendly service and is popular with locals and tourists alike. The menu includes cold draft beer, wines and more. The place is ideal for an evening of relaxation. Overnight, like the night before at Indongo Guest House in Swakopmund.

PLAN OF THE DAY:

  • breakfast
  • A walk through the town of Swakopmund
  • Departure on the road around 11:00 - direction Walvis Bay, by road through deserts and dunes
  • Walvis Bay sea salt farm
  • lunch in Walvis Bay

Swakopmund Cape Cross

After breakfast, we head north along the Skeleton Coast, a salt road leading to historic Cape Cross.
We'll stop a few miles out of town for a closer look at one of the shipwrecks the Skeleton Coast is famous for. It's time for some cool snapshots. Halfway to Cape Cross is the picturesque town of Henties Bay, and here we'll stop for lunch.

We will arrive at Cape Cross in the early afternoon. Cape Cross is named after the cross erected here in 1486 by the Portuguese explorer sailor Diogo Cão, who arrived here during his expeditions. Cape Cross (Cape Cross) is a place known primarily for the world's largest colony of dwarf sea lions. Up to 100,000 individuals of these marine mammals live in this area, which is a nature reserve.

Cape Cross Mount Brandberg

After breakfast, we set off inland. Ahead of us is a day of driving amidst stunning desert landscapes that stimulate the senses. The journey from Cape Cross around Mount Brandberg takes us through Namibia's picturesque rugged terrain. The road first winds its way along the coast and then turns inland toward the country's highest mountain range, the Brandberg. The region is known for its unusual landscapes, including vast fields of lichens. These are plants that can survive in extremely dry conditions - they change color when watered, as we will see for ourselves. At the foot of Brandberg, you can admire volcanic rock formations and ancient rock paintings, including the famous "White Lady."

Nearby, in the Messum Crater, one can discover traces of ancient cultures, such as cave paintings and the remains of settlements of the Damara people. It is a unique example of the combination of geology and Namibian history, with landscapes full of volcanic rocks and unique flora

Brandberg Erongo Mountains

We are heading towards the Erongo Mountains. Damaraland impresses with the ruggedness of its landscape - from hills interspersed with dry rivers and savannah to desert areas, elephants and other wildlife can be found here, and the Damara people have lived here for centuries. On the way to Erongo, the route passes through spectacular surroundings - a view of the huge Spitzkoppe granite blocks and rare endemic vegetation.

The Brandberg Massif, Damaraland and the Erongo Mountains together make up some of Namibia's most fascinating places, ideal for lovers of wildlife and unspoiled landscapes.

Erongo Mountains Windhoek

After breakfast, we will go on a tour of the cave paintings, after which we will set off towards our last stop of the trip - Windhoek The road from Erongo to Windhoek leads through picturesque desert areas, and along the way you can visit several interesting places where our stops are planned:

Omaruru - a small, charming town located on the river of the same name. Omaruru is famous for its artistic atmosphere and colonial history. Visit local art galleries, such as Kristall Kellerei, and purchase wine from a local winery - one of the few in Namibia. It's an ideal place for a short break, especially if you're interested in handicrafts or jewelry made from local semi-precious stones.

Okahandja, Known as the "City of Gardens." It is an important cultural center of the Herero tribe. The biggest attraction is the handicraft markets, where you can buy wood products, jewelry or traditional souvenirs. The Herero cemetery, an important historical site commemorating the tribe's former chiefs, is also worth a visit.

The last stage of about 80 km leading directly to the Windhoek, Namibia's capital, by a busy but scenic road. The landscapes turn greener, especially during the rainy season. The hills surrounding the city begin to dominate the horizon.

In the late afternoon we will arrive at the Royal Enfield resort in Windhoek, complete the formalities and part with our motorcycles. Transfer to the hotel and have a final farewell dinner at one of Namibia's best and most famous restaurants, Joe's Bierhaus. Joe's Beerhouse is a place that stands out from the entrance with its unique style. The interior resembles a combination of a traditional Namibian pub and a rustic safari lodge. A spacious patio, tables made of wooden logs and plenty of memorabilia on the walls - from old license plates to local handicrafts - create an amazing atmosphere.
